Snowgoose Centre is ideally located in the heart of the west highlands of Scotland, some 100 miles north of Glasgow and 77 miles south of Inverness. We are conveniently situated in the village of Corpach on the A830 ” The Road to the Isles”. The village is some 4 miles to the north west from the town of Fort William which is one of the main touring and shopping hubs in the Scottish Highlands.

At the south west end of the Great Glen and Caledonian Canal & right at the start of the Road to the Isles, there is direct road access to Glenfinnan & the “Rough Bounds “, on to the white beaches of Arisaig, then on to the fishing town & ferry terminus at Mallaig (about 40 miles). From our doorstep we have some of the best, stunning views across the loch of Ben Nevis, the Mamor Ridges & the nearby Aonach Mor Nevis Range ski and Mountain biking area.
Our unique location means that there is easy access to both the main touring routes and public transport. We are at the head of the tidal waters of Loch Linnhe, 20 miles in either direction from the open sea within a very short distance of widely ranging grades of white water, rock and mountains, means that we can offer an extensive range of water and mountain based activities for all grades, from one hour to one week. We are 5 miles from the superb Aonach Mhor ski area with its all year round gondola facility and 15 miles from Glencoe.
Coming from the south take the A82 North from Fort William towards Inverness for approx 1 mile. Take the left hand turn at the roundabout north of Fort William onto A830 towards Mallaig for about 2 miles to the village of Corpach.
Coming from the north coming down the A82 take the RIGHT hand turn north of Fort William at the first round about at Lochy Bridge – over the River Lochy on to the A830 towards Mallaig for about 2 miles to the village of Corpach.
In the village of Corpach take the left hand turn at the brown & white sign for Snowgoose Mountain Centre & The Smiddy Bunkhouse.
Turn left at sign to Caledonian Canal / Corpach Sea Lock / Corpach Railway Station 40 yards – large timber clad building on left, immediately before the level crossing.
By Rail :
Coming to us by railway from the south stay on the train in Fort William (book to Corpach) which connects through to Mallaig. Get off 2 stops out from Fort William at Corpach. Coming from Mallaig get off 2 stops before Fort William. Our outdoor centre and accommodation is literally yards from the station at Corpach. There is no “early train” ( 07.10 hrs) out from us / Fort William on Sunday mornings.
The West Highland Railway line from Fort William between Glasgow and Mallaig (literally) passes our door with the Jacobite Steam Train operating from May to October.
By Coach :
There is a north bound national coach service from Glasgow; Edinburgh linking through to Mallaig via Fort William plus a similar south bound coach from the north via Inverness.
Local Bus Service from Fort William :
There is a regular local bus service from Fort William to our village plus a bus link from Fort William out to Mallaig stopping along the way. From Fort William catch local bus to Corpach (Service No 45) from Middles Street behind in Boots and Smiths in Fort William High Street. Buses run every half hour during the day. Get off at Kilmallie Hall in the village of Corpach.
Taxis :
Plenty of local taxi firms operate in the area. Sometimes it is cheaper for a group to get a taxi together from / to Fort William or Corpach.
