Booking Terms:

These are the Terms & Conditions we apply to the services supplied to our customers. It is important that you read these before you make a booking with us. These terms identify who we are, what services we provide and how we provide them, our charges, howe we or you may change or end our contract, what to do if there are any changes or problems with your booking & other useful information.

The contract: The contract for your booking will be with the Lead Guest and Snowgoose Centre. The Lead Guest is responsible for communicating all booking information to other members of the group prior to arrival / start date.

BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS

How to book

  • Enquiries & Bookings can be made direct online for our “Best Price” link Self Catering or Bunkhouse or call direct us on 01397772467
  • If in doubt you may make an enquiry – please complete the online Enquiry Form. We will respond to this as soon as possible.
  • To make a booking please return the completed Booking Form, or Online Booking with your 30% deposit / full balance with payment by debit, credit card, online banking.
  • You will be asked for your Debit or Credit Card number to complete the booking process. A booking can only be confirmed on receipt of a deposit.
  • There is no Contract between us until at least a 30% deposit is received.
  • NOTE: We do prefer that payments are made by online bank transfer. See ban details below.
  • The balance will be due 4 weeks prior to your arrival. All deposits are non-refundable
  • Where the booking is made less than 4 weeks before the arrival date, then the full balance is due at the time of booking.
  • We are able to keep a provisional telephone booking for 7 days before we release the booking for other clients.
  • Once you have completed the booking process and paid the non-refundable deposit you will have entered into a legal contract with Snowgoose Centre. Please check that the details are as you wish. Let us know within 7 days if there is any difference unless the arrival is within 14 days, in which case please contact us immediately
  • On receipt of the deposit / full balance, you will be sent a Booking Confirmation / Invoice, confirming dates, prices, number of people, and the services we will be providing. This will have an invoice number so that we can identify your booking, as well a by the name of person who makes the booking.
  • This will be by written or e-mail confirmation from us
  • If we are unable to accept your request for a booking, we will let you know in writing and you will not be charged. This maybe because there is no availability for your dates or numbers; other operational issues beyond our control which could not be planned for; or because a mistake has been made in pricing or our service description.

The price you pay

  • All prices are inclusive of VAT

What Happens Next

  • Payment of the balance. You will be contacted when the balance is due if the booking was made more than 4 weeks prior to your arrival date.

About seven days prior to your arrival date, you will be sent the access key code to your accommodation for Self-Checkin. There may not be anyone on site in the office when you arrive but there is always a call divert on from the office number to a mobile phone a few minutes away.

CANCELLATIONS, INSURANCE & SECURITY DEPOSITS

Cancellations or Amendments by you

  • All deposits are non- refundable. This applies to all services booked with us.
  • Unless we are notified in writing of any problems with your booking 4 weeks before your arrival date then the full balance will be due. The person making the booking will be liable for the full outstanding balance.
  • In the event that we do manage to re-let any accommodation, hire, guiding or expedition, a cancellation fee of £30 per unit will be charged.
  • Snowgoose Mountain Centre can take no responsibility or accept cancellation if part of your group decides a) they do not want to come, b) they cannot afford to come, c) they do not like the look of the weather, no snow, too much snow,… too wet….not enough water in the rivers, ice conditions not quite right! d) their boss would not give them time off work.
  • Please remember, if you make a booking on behalf of other people, you are legally responsible for the payment of the balance. The date when this is due will be on your booking form

Cancellations by Snowgoose Mountain Centre    

Changes caused by exceptional circumstances

  • In any unforeseen circumstances in the very unlikely event that accommodation booking has to be cancelled every effort will be made to contact you 24 hours before your arrival or preferably much earlier.
  • If Snowgoose Centre has to make the decision to cancel your accommodation booking due to weather or other unavoidable operational reasons, weather, government or other outside unavoidable outside circumstances, an alternative date or full refund will be offered.
  • If we make changes which mean that your booking is radically different a choice will be given between a) agreeing alternative dates with you b) or cancel the booking and agree a refund.
  • If the law prevents your stay with us or other reasons out with our control, either of us has the right to cancel your stay. We prefer that you defer the booking but will always allow you to cancel if the law allows you the right to do so.
  • We are not liable or able to accept responsibility for any transport, accommodation or other expenses incurred by you in the event of that cancellation by us. Adequate travel insurance is very strongly recommended to cover the period of your travel and stay with us.

Insurance & Communication

  • It is strongly recommended that, especially if you are making a booking on behalf of others, that you take out your own or other Cancellation Insurance to cover your period of travel. You may have to pay for accommodation, hire, guiding or course holiday, which you cannot take – through no fault of your own.
  • It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to make all members of your party aware of the notes below. This is particularly relevant if your party is coming long distances, arriving separately or at different times.
  • The person who completes the Booking Form is responsible for the booking and must be 21 years or older.
  • Only the people named on the Booking Form may use the accommodation paid for with Snowgoose Centre in either the apartment of bunkhouse. These are personal bookings and cannot be transferred to another person. Our accommodation is not available to other persons who are not booked with and paid to us
  • We do not allow more than the stated number of clients in any accommodation.

Security Deposits

  • A security deposit of £100 per accommodation booking is payable against loss, damage or excessive cleaning costs.
  • This is returned to you on return of all accommodation in a clean and undamaged condition.
  • The security deposit will be retained in the event that any accommodation is not returned to us in the condition as you collected it. This will also cover breakages & loss of equipment

  • All agreed refunds will be made within 7 days

ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES FOR ACCOMMODATION

Arrivals & Check-in Times

The allocated check in time for all accommodation is after 15.00hrs.  Please plan your travel arrange plans around this. We are not able to process your arrival and check before this time. Departing visitors are requested to depart from the accommodation before 10.00hrs on the morning of departure. Please adhere to this check out time because of our cleaning schedule.

Late Arrivals. Our office is usually closed from 17.00hrs. The latest check in is 20.00hrs – please plan your travel plans around this. You will have been sent the access key code to your accommodation for Self-Checkin.If it happens that you will be arriving after 20.00hrs please let us know when the booking is made. Likewise if you intend to leave early in the morning, please let us know.

PARTICIPATION & RESTRICTIONS

Age Restrictions

  • We do not accept bookings from groups aged less than 18yrs unless accompanied by a responsible adult in charge of the group aged 21 years or over. You must be authorised to make the booking on the Terms & Conditions by all members of your group.

Stag & Hen Bookings

  • These bookings are at our discretion. We are not happy to accept bookings from groups who wish to make a lot of noise or drink excessively!!

Occupancy

  • It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to make all members of your party aware of the notes below. This is particularly relevant if your party is coming long distances, arriving separately or at different times.
  • The person who completes the Booking Form is responsible for the booking and must be 18 years or older.
  • Only the people named on the Booking Form may stay with us – this is a personal booking and cannot be transferred to another person. The accommodation is not available to other persons who are not booked to stay with us.
  • We do not allow more than the stated number of occupants in any unit of the accommodation. This includes children over 1 year old who are not using a cot.
  • Other members of your group who may be staying in campsites etc., adjacent B&Bs or camper vans do not have access to any of our facilities at any time.
  • There are no facilities for parking overnight or otherwise for camper vans in any circumstances, or for folks not staying with us

Pets & Smoking

  • Pets. We do not accept pets in any of our accommodation.
  • Smoking and vaping are not allowed in, near or around the accommodation – please do not smoke on the patio or staircases. There is a smoking shelter away from the building.

USE OF FACILITIES

Please keep your personal & toiletry belongings in your bunkroom – rather than in the communal areas if your booking is for an individual room.

Shared accommodation in the Bunkhouse. You may have booked only one of the rooms in the bunkhouse with shared kitchen/ dining / sitting accommodation or shower room facilities. Please be aware that where you are staying more than one night, that staff will be into the accommodation at 10.am to clean the vacating bunkroom, all shower rooms, Kitchen and general living areas. Access to these areas will be strictly limited from 10am – 11am. Our services do not include doing your daily washing up!

Bedding; drying rooms; storage; cleaning

Sleeping bags & bedding: All bedding & bed linen is provided ready for your arrival. Under no circumstances do we allow any of your own bedding / sleeping bags into the accommodation- you will be asked to remove it. This applies to accommodation in both the bunkhouse and apartments. This is purely in the interests of cleanliness & hygiene. We do not provide towels in the hostel / bunkhouse – only hand towels. Towels are provided as a matter of course in the apartments.

Cleaning: The accommodation is thoroughly cleaned at the end of each let. Visitors are required to leave the property in exactly the same condition when they leave. A supply of cleaning materials, plus vacuum cleaner, brush and iron are always available in the accommodation or drying room. Toilet rolls, cleaning cloths and waste bags are supplied sufficient for the first few days. We do withhold security deposits if the condition of the accommodation is unacceptable on departure.

Wet gear / Drying rooms: All clients are requested to use our efficient drying room facilities to dry wet gear – there are also plenty of outside drying lines / fences to let really wet gear drip dry. Do not, under any circumstances dry your gear in the accommodation on any heaters. These are new!

Storage of mountain bikes / canoes / skis / snowboards: DO NOT expect to be able to take mountain bikes/ canoes, etc into the accommodation – this request is made without exception! We are in pretty low crime area -there have never been issues with leaving bikes / paddling gear securely locked on roof racks

         

FACILITIES ON SITE & SECUITY

Use of facilities

There are no facilities for parking overnight or otherwise for camper vans in any circumstances, or for folks not staying with us

Wet gear / Drying room: If you are staying with us you are requested to use our efficient drying room facilities to dry wet gear Do not, under any circumstances dry your gear in the accommodation on any heaters. These are new!

Storage of mountain bikes / canoes / skis / snowboards.

Car Parking

While there is more than adequate, free parking on site, we can get overloaded is a everyone decides to travel individually. If you are a larger group coming from several locations please bear this in mind.

Any vehicles and their contents left on site are purely at the owner’s discretion. Snowgoose Mountain Centre can accept no responsibility or liability this respect.

PROBLEMS?

Any problems? If you do find that anything is missing in your accommodation – or if something does not work, gets broken – then please let us know!  We accept that accidents do happen but we would rather know so that it can be put right. Under no circumstances do not attempt to mend or repair any electrical appliances or plumbing – please contact us – no matter what time of day or night it is!
